The exhibition Dordtenaren in ramspoed (Dordidents in Misfortune) focuses on major and minor disasters from past centuries. In all these times of disaster, the people of Dordrecht have never thrown in the towel and the city usually emerges stronger in the end. The exhibition Dordtenaren in rampspoed can be visited from Tuesday to Sunday between 11:00 - 17:00 hours in the Regionaal Archief Dordrecht.
The big advantage of this mini tasting is that you don't have to make reservations. You can walk in every Saturday shortly before 3 p.m. and shortly before 4 p.m. You will be welcomed downstairs in the distillery for a small tour where you will hear the story about the beautiful history of the company and about distilling. You can also tour the boiler, followed by a tasting of various Rutte products. €7 p.p.
During the weekend of February 4 & 5, the youngsters of Take pART will give their own guided tour of the Dordrechts Museum in which they will make visitors look at art in a different way. During the Take pARTners' tours, you will see the works through their eyes. The tours are free, but do reserve a ticket (excluding museum entrance). Tours are given between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. during various time slots and last half an hour.
On Sunday, you can take a look around City Hall between noon and 4:30 p.m. Throughout City Hall there are paintings and objects on display that have something to do with the city and its history. In the hall or Civic Hall is a large oak fireplace with paintings to the left and right. There is a bust of Johan de Witt. Also located here is the Jewish Monument with the names of 221 Jewish Dordrians who perished during the Second World War.
Kunstrondje Dordt is a walk along galleries, art, antique and curio stores, antiquarian bookshops and museums in Dordrecht. The addresses of the participating stores as well as a map can be found on the website and in the free brochure, which is available at the stores themselves and at the VVV Tourist Office. The opening hours of the stores vary, but every first Sunday of the month, almost all of these stores are open exclusively for you!
