After The Father, there is now Part 2 of the family trilogy.
Premiere
Several years after his parents' divorce, depressed 17-year-old Nicholas no longer feels at home with his mother Kate(Laura Dern). His father Peter(Hugh Jackman) and his new partner Beth(Vanessa Kirby) decide to take Nicholas into their home. They want to make a good effort to get his life back on track. Peter is doing everything he can to be a better father to his son than his own father(Anthony Hopkins) was to him. But are all the well-meaning concerns enough to help Nicholas?
Director Florian Zeller previously created a theatrical trilogy about father, son and mother. The film adaptation of the part The Father became a huge success, with Anthony Hopkins in his Oscar-winning role of demented father. So now the second part in which the father does not ask for care but gives it. Hopkins now has a small supporting role.
Faithful: ".The Son is actually about the father."
