Williams takes his life into his own hands
Premiere
London 1953. Williams(Bill Nighy), veteran and civil servant, loses himself in the bureaucracy of rebuilding post-World War II England. As the endless paperwork piles up, Williams learns he does not have long to live. His diagnosis forces him to take control of his life, seek the happiness he lost long ago and leave a legacy for the next generation.
Living is a remake of Akira Kurosawa 's Japanese film Ikiru . Bill Nighy - the typical British - plays one of his finest roles. Amazing how you can make such an impression by acting with hardly any emotion.
