For the second time this evening, Dordrecht will be the setting for the television show Scrooge Live. With this program Omroep MAX, together with Nationaal Fonds Kinderhulp, wants to draw attention to child poverty in the Netherlands, and raise as much money as possible to give children in poverty literally and figuratively warmth. This television spectacle full of humor and song is the kickoff of the Christmas season.
Scrooge Live is a live rendition based on "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens and is about the enormously miserly banker Ebenezer Scrooge. His only employee, Bob Cratchit, works under harsh conditions. Scrooge's deceased companion tries to bring him to repentance from the spirit world, but it is not without controversy. A story about contrasts between rich and poor, friendship, love and family. With a.o.: Paul Groot, André van Duin and Tineke Schouten.
Please note that you cannot attend this televised spectacle, but you can watch it live on NPO1 starting at 8:30 p.m.!
