Everything is more exciting at night; even the word culture becomes more interesting if you put night behind it. Especially for everyone who wants to get lost in culture at night, various cultural institutions have put together a surprising program for the Dordt Culture Night. On Saturday, October 8, the museums of Dordrecht, among others, will not close their doors at five o'clock, but the program will continue into the night. Not the usual program during the Dordt Culture Night, because organizers Tjarco van Raalte and Boris Gunst want to surprise visitors extra this year. 'It will be a showcase of all cultural disciplines,' says Gunst.
The various venues, museums and makers present in the city show their best side, in the dark.
The Dordrecht Culture Night is an excellent opportunity for people who have not yet had much to do with culture to become acquainted, free of charge, with everything Dordrecht has to offer in this area. 'We want to invite every Dordrecht resident to visit one or more of the many free performances, there is everything to do. It ranges from blues performances, to live electronic music to a classical night concert in the Grote Kerk. And from people's library to Cape Verdean carnival, balcony serenades and a tour of lights. There is something wonderful for everyone! The night begins early with a special route for youth. 'The children have also been thought of with a silent disco campfire stories, glow in the dark star making and a Griezelbus escaperoom,' says Van Raalte.
'For anyone who still thinks there is nothing to do in Dordrecht, there is still so much to discover. During the Dordrecht Culture Night, this is visible everywhere and people really can't ignore it,' said Gunst. 'So come October 8 and roam the city and be surprised.' Dordtse Cultuurnacht begins at 6 p.m. at the Energiehuis and continues deep into the night. The entire program and participating organizations can be found at www.dordtsecultuurnacht.nl. In all participating locations you can enter for free.
