This 18th volume in the series 'Verhalen van Dordrecht' appeared on the occasion of Ronald Bandell's farewell in 2010. As is well known, Ronald Bandell was succeeded as mayor by Arno Brok, who became the King's Commissioner in Friesland in 2017. His successor is Wouter Kolff. Many mayors have governed Dordrecht from the 13th century until now. The booklet is written by Harco Bakker, who describes the mayors at the time of the Republic and in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, but also pays attention to the mayoralty in and after the Second World War.
