Product description

The authors describe the history of the Mint of Holland from the thirteenth century until its closure in 1806. They pay attention to the Mint building, the Mint as an institution and the people who were involved in striking and hallmarking coins and medals. The mint mates, for example, formed a separate world within Dordt society. They wore special clothing and enjoyed many privileges, such as exemption from all kinds of taxes.
