Product description

The sixth part of the series 'Verhalen van Dordrecht' tells the story of Het Zakkendragersgilde. In the 15th century, Dordrecht had no less than thirty guilds representing thirty-four different professions.

Of these guilds, the Bagbearers' Guild has had the longest existence. Bag carriers carried bags of peat and corn. With small boats, they unloaded the sea-going ships that had dropped anchor on the Maas.
