Back to the past for a moment....
Walk led by an expert guide from nature organization IVN. Theme: reed culture.
Until the middle of the last century, willow branches were still cut in the osier's willows. The branches and twigs had numerous uses: from baskets and fences to complete zinc pieces for hydraulic engineering. The work was very hard, the willow workers spent most of the week in a shelter in their working area. In the Hoge Biezenplaat you can still find remnants of that old grienden culture.
Halfway through the hike, there will be a coffee stop at a still-existing shanty house (a contribution for this is greatly appreciated).
Tip: Sturdy waterproof boots/shoes.
