Once again this year, Weizigt will open its doors during the Open Monument Dayson September 12 and 13, 2026. And since the Coach House is celebrating its 140th anniversary this year, there will be all kinds of fun activities related to the history of this special place.

There’s plenty to do. Who knows—you might even come face to face with Mr. and Mrs. De Roo. Want to know what life was like for them at Weizigt and what their lives were like over a hundred years ago? This is your chance to ask your questions!
Who worked for the De Roo family? Who took care of the carriages and horses? What did it smell like in a coach house? And what did Mr. and Mrs. De Roo see when they looked out of their house? You can see it all in the exhibition on the history of this beautiful place.

Musical Monuments
Gee Willikers and the Great Googley Moogley captivate every audience with foot-stomping rhythms on the banjo, mandolin, guitar, and bass. From beloved traditional classics to contemporary bluegrass, this five-piece band navigates effortlessly between eras—familiar yet refreshing at the same time. Bluegrass as it’s meant to be: a little bit of this, a little bit of that, and above all, lots and lots of bluegrass.

What does birthday music sound like for a building celebrating its anniversary? On Saturday, September 12, children will join an accordionist and a tap dancer to discover and create music that fits the Koetshuis. Children who want to participate in this workshop must register in advance.
