At Galerie Wijnstraat you will find mostly exhibitions of contemporary art. With a floor space of 100 m2 divided over two floors, the emphasis is on duo and group exhibitions. This offers the opportunity to exhibit work by artists with a similar starting point or theme, who reinforce each other in their work or enter into a dialogue with each other. The emphasis here is on contemporary art.

The building at 178 Wijnstraat is not very old but still has significant cultural-historical value. It is an example of an early twentieth century store with an upstairs apartment. The property is located in the Wijnstraat; one of the oldest streets in Dordrecht. First built with warehouses and shipyards, but where since about 1400 businesses and homes were located. Special is the high store front, an impressive Jugendstil façade in curved shapes and wavy lines. In 1918, the Dordrecht architect Carel Tenenti submits a building application to modify an existing building. The front facade remains unchanged, at the rear an extension with balcony is realized. In 1954, a new stairwell was built and the original layout was removed. Recently the building was restored and the interior completely modernized.
