Stroll through charming markets in search of that one vintage treasure, take a trip around the world right in your own city center, or raise a glass with friends among the food trucks in the park. From the royal traditions on King’s Day to the laid-back picnic vibe of the big festivals, Dordrecht’s calendar is packed with highlights you won’t want to miss. Grab your calendar and discover the best events this spring in Dordrecht right here!
Be sure to mark April 5, May 3, and June 7 on your calendar. On these Sundays, the popular Art and Antiques Market returns to the historic heart of Dordrecht. Nieuwkerksplein will feature over forty stalls offering an incredibly wide variety of items. Think rare vinyl, vintage clothing, African art, or that one missing piece of your dinnerware set. The market has been around for twenty years and attracts a diverse crowd. In addition to regular collectors, more and more young people are finding their way to the square to hunt for unique vintage finds.
The market is more than just shopping; above all, it’s a social event where the atmosphere takes center stage. Starting at 2:00 p.m., the stage opens for local talent, and a live band provides music on the terrace. It’s a regular fixture for many neighborhood residents who come specifically to dance. In the afternoon, people hit the dance floor, and the square is filled with a lively, friendly atmosphere. Admission is free, and the venue is easily accessible to everyone. Come find a unique treasure or simply enjoy the music with a snack and a drink!
Get ready, because on Saturday, April 18, Dordrecht’s downtown will transform into a bustling metropolis! Following last year’s safari adventure, the POBD business association is taking an international turn this year with the theme: “Worldly Dordrecht.”
Have you always wanted to take a selfie at the Eiffel Tower, Manneken Pis, or Big Ben? You don’t have to leave town to do it, because these icons are coming right here to our own city center. It’s no coincidence that this theme was chosen: “Dordrecht has, of course, had a long history of international trade,” says Andrea, an organizer representing the POBD. Don’t expect a typical shopping day—think of it as a journey through different countries. The Vleeshouwersstraat will become an Italian street, and on the square in front of Rutte, you’ll feel like you’re in France. For those who love Scandinavia, there’s even a special route taking you past shops with a Nordic flair. There will be fun promotions in the stores, tastings, and extra activities. “It’s the perfect opportunity for Dordrecht residents to rediscover their own city.“
From 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., the city center comes alive with international street theater and music. Would you rather beat the crowds? Come in the morning and enjoy the first surprises at your leisure. You can find all the photo spots, promotions, and activities at www.dordtpaktuit.nl!
The Dordrecht Orange Day Central Committee has once again put together a fantastic program for 2026. The festivities kick off on Sunday, April 26, with Oranje Live at Statenplein, where bands like Yellow will get the party started while the kids have fun at the Kinderplein. On King’s Day itself, the city center will be buzzing with activities. The day traditionally begins with a musical parade and the festive Aubade at Stadhuisplein. Afterward, you can spend the whole day strolling through the extensive Oranjemarkt or visiting the lively children’s flea market in the Kloostertuin.
Music lovers will be in for a treat at the impressive Oranjeband Show on Statenplein, where bands from all over the country put on their best performances. Those who enjoy culinary delights can join the exclusive King’s Day Brunch at Art & Dining. There’s also plenty to do for young and old alike in the city’s various neighborhoods. As is tradition, the day ends with a spectacular fireworks display at the Drierivierenpunt. From the Groothoofd, you can enjoy a spectacular show over the water. In short, Dordrecht is all about celebration, music, and fun. You won’t be bored for a moment! For more information, visit www.koningsdagindordrecht.nl!

The festival is free and open to everyone, making it the perfect place to pull up a chair with good company at the many food trucks. On Saturday, June 6, the beautiful Wantijpark will once again transform into Dordrecht’s most lively venue. Wantijpop is back with an edition you absolutely can’t miss. This year’s lineup has now been officially announced and promises a spectacular program for young and old alike. One of the absolute headliners on the Ames main stage is: Douwe Bob! With his distinctive sound and energetic performance, he’s the perfect fit for the unique “picnic vibe” the festival is known for.
In addition to the big names on the main stage, Wantijpop is once again offering a spot for the best local talent at the Popcentrale this year. For dance enthusiasts, there’s of course the familiar Geheime Deuntjes area where you can dance all afternoon. Families will also find plenty to enjoy at the Koning Eik field. Here, the youngest visitors will be treated to theater performances and creative workshops. Combine all these performances with a wide selection of local food trucks, and you have all the ingredients for a perfect summer Saturday in the park. As always, admission is completely free!
