An outing with the kids, a nice adventure with the whole family, there are plenty of possibilities in Dordrecht! Do you want to get high? Then go to the climbing forest with your children, step into a canoe in National Park de Biesbosch or grab your skateboard and let off steam in the skate park on the edge of the historic inner city.
Are you more of a culture junkie? With children, it is extra fun at the toy attic in Huis van Gijn, climb the tower of Grote Kerk or discover Molen Kyck op den Dyck. Shopping and eating well with the kids is also a trip in itself, of course. In the inner city there is a diversity of special children's (clothing) shops and for in between there is a choice of cosy eateries, highly recommended for children, we give you some ideas below!
In the city center there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy rollerblading, both for children and adults. Practice your tricks at the Skatepark under the Zwijndrecht bridge or make use of the excellent cycle paths in the city center of Dordrecht. De Elzen, the spacious and quiet nature reserve, is also great for rollerblading and perfect for both beginners and advanced skaters. Two routes have been set out, one of 10 kilometers (the blue route) straight through the polder and one of 20 (the red route) over the dikes, including along the Kop van 't Land and over the Zuidendijk. The routes are connected and can be ridden in two directions. If you park at De Viersprong you will see the signs. In short, fun and sporty with the kids!
