Open all day, seven days a week, with seating for 200 guests. The restaurant is the gardener’s and chef’s ideal: from early spring to deep into winter, the Dutch seasons are visible and harvestable in the garden. Inspiring for both. All vegetables, fruits, and herbs go directly to the chefs after harvest. From the open kitchen—the heart of the restaurant—they prepare them as deliciously (and beautifully) as possible.
The menu features a limited number of dishes, some of which change every two months. We work as much as possible with organic or otherwise well-produced products. Preferably from the immediate area, but fine ingredients from elsewhere in Europe are also possible.
Boat Tours
Villa Augustus has two tour boats moored in the Wantij behind the hotel. Welcome aboard!
On a one-hour tour, the skipper takes you past Dordrecht’s historic center: through Europe’s busiest river junction and the Groothoofd—immortalized by countless masters—past centuries-old houses with their foundations in the water, where the waves lap against the windows…
A two-hour (or longer) boat tour takes you to the Hollandse Biesbosch—a green maze of osier beds and creeks, home to beavers, ospreys, and sea eagles, and of course, Haas!
