At Restaurant Het Bevertje , there’s one big crowd-pleaser on the menu: fries with stewed beef. Delicious fresh beef, served with fries. “Simple, but delicious,” says Linsey Brand-Verheij. The stewed beef with fries has been on the menu for several years and is ordered frequently, according to Linsey. “It’s a dish you can’t order just anywhere, but one that people often crave. So they come to us to enjoy it. All year round, but especially in the winter.” Winter dining at Restaurant Het Bevertje isn’t just about the stew with fries; you can also enjoy winter dishes like fresh pea soup and goulash soup, or go for a dish that’s always a hit at this restaurant in the winter: the Jägerschnitzel, a schnitzel with mushrooms. Come taste these winter dishes at Restaurant Het Bevertje this winter!
Winter dining is a delight at Bistro Twee33! Especially this time of year, the menu features meat dishes you’ll love. How about a delicious cut of meat served with a pear side dish, for example? Or go for a tasty boeuf bourguignon or a delicious short rib. “People order meat a lot in the winter,” notes Frank Mol. “At this time of year, people are less likely to choose a light dish like fish, but rather a heartier meal, such as something with meat. We’ve also recently added beautiful cuts of Chateaubriand as a special. As Christmas approaches, we might even serve some of this meat “Wellington-style,” that is, with a crispy crust.” Whatever you choose this winter at Bistro Twee33, you’re sure to enjoy it!
Crimp’s cheese fondue is pure comfort in a pot: creamy melted cheese, fresh sourdough bread, baby potatoes in their skins, and delicious seasonal vegetables for dipping. You can choose from no fewer than two varieties of cheese fondue: the well-known Swiss cheese fondue, a true tradition that’s always a hit. Or go for the special truffle cheese fondue. A touch of luxury: creamy, rich, and irresistible with fresh truffle! If you want to go all out, order an entrecôte to go with the cheese fondue. And how about the wine deal? You’ll get a specially selected red, white, or rosé wine to pair with the cheese fondue. Now that it’s getting a bit colder, cheese fondues—for which you need to make a reservation in advance—are regularly ordered at De Crimp, says Nicky van de Toorn. “Cheese fondue is truly a bit of nostalgia for many people. For me, too: I often go on winter sports trips and enjoy cozy evenings with cheese fondue on the table. That’s why we introduced this dish at De Crimp.”

For years, Finn’s cheese fondue has been on the menu for years. That’s no surprise, since this creamy dish brings a generous dose of conviviality to the table! The idea was born during the pandemic, Regard Reuser explains. “We’d made cheese fondue in jam jars that people could heat up at home. Once we reopened the restaurant, we thought, ‘We’ll just keep offering the cheese fondues.’” At Finn’s, guests can expect the classic cheese fondue, but served with a twist: in a hollowed-out roll! The mixture of Emmental, Gruyère, and Gouda cheese is poured into it. You can simply enjoy the roll as part of the meal. Running low on cheese fondue? Refills are no problem at Finn’s. Regard: “Many people love cheese and enjoy its aroma. They find it cozy to take their time with it and often linger a bit longer while eating a cheese fondue.” You’d be wise to check your calendar if you want to enjoy cheese fondue at Finn’s, because it’s only available once a month during the winter: December 10, January 14, February 11, and March 11.
Over the past few winters, City Bakery Café 38 transformed the place into a full-fledged cheese fondue restaurant for a number of weekends. It was such a hit that you can now enjoy cheese fondue at City Bakery Café 38 all winter long! Through the end of February, to be exact. You can choose from Dutch cheese, truffle cheese, and, of course, Swiss cheese—sourced from our friends at the hotel management school who run Restaurant SMELT in Amsterdam—which is served per person. So if you’d like to try a different type of cheese that your tablemates have ordered, you can. The cheese fondue is served with seasonal vegetables and crusty sourdough bread, and you can also order a wine pairing. And if you’d like to dip something else in the cheese, you can order charcuterie or oven-roasted potatoes, for example. Maud van Leeuwen understands why the cheese fondue—which can be reserved from Thursday through Sunday—is so popular. “People enjoy having a cheese fondue together and sharing this dish with one another.”
