Nothing is better than escaping the hustle and bustle with a delicious hot drink in an atmospheric coffee hotspot. Downtown entrepreneurs know exactly how to pamper you: from creamy chai lattes to hot chocolate - all to your taste!
Venture out, find a cozy spot and enjoy a moment to yourself or with friends.
When it comes to coffee and tea, you're in the right place at Couple's, the store run by Anita and Boris. They make it a real sport to give their customers something special to taste in terms of hot drinks. All organic, all tasty - from chai latte to matcha latte that you drink hot or cold and from hot chocolate to all kinds of cold coffee variations like Iced Vanilla Latte or Hazelnut Latte. If you like milk in your drink, you can choose not only coconut milk, but also oat and almond milk. Seasonal drinks are also on the menu, Anita and Boris tell us. "This spring, for example, we have Raspberry Matcha Latte and Strawberry Matcha Latte. At this time of year the hot chocolate is also still doing well. Furthermore, we are known for our good cappuccino. And if you are in the mood for tea, you are of course also welcome. Who knows, with something delicious to go with it!"
At De Remise you can of course get the "normal" black coffee, cappuccino and latte macchiato, but the cozy establishment in the heart of downtown has much more. For example, you'll find specials like Tiramisu Latte on the menu, says Els Groeneveld. "We offer special drinks because this is what people need and we like to offer variety." For example, choose a Caramel Latte, Dirty Latte or Hazelnut Latte. Or go for an espresso macchiato. The latter drink in particular is often ordered, Els says. "It's a spicy drink, which totally suits this time of year. With our specials, people can discover something new for a change. Especially groups of friends enjoy going out of their way with the specials. Or with something homemade to go with it. We also vary this to surprise people."
At the foot of the Grote Kerk sits Nobel's Brood, where you can enjoy a good espresso in a charming little living room restaurant hidden behind the bread store. With or without regional milk from Gorinchem. There is a lot of to-go in particular, says Willemijn Nobel. "In the most beautiful setting in the Netherlands, it's great to walk to the historic harbor area with your coffee to go. And of course it's not just coffee, when you're in front of the counter you really can't pass up that pastel de nata or madeleine." Coffee is also thoroughly enjoyed in the business. Willemijn calls Nobel's Brood "a nice, quiet place. "Because we are just outside the modern core shopping area, in the most beautiful street of Dordrecht with its centuries-old (warehouse) houses, you find that nice quietness here and you feel the history. On our gable benches in front of the bread store, you look out over one of the oldest bridges in the city, see the Grote Kerk on the right and the old Town Hall on the left. Like sitting on a French village square: a real vacation feeling! And for a chat, too, you've come to the right place."
De Stadsbranderij is a coffee and tea store and features a new, sustainable coffee roastery. It is a family business that has been around since 2010 and has been located on Vriesestraat since 2015. "We supply fresh coffee beans and tea to consumers and businesses," says Bas van der Stoep, who owns De Stadsbranderij with Iris van der Stoep. They are supported by father Ben. "We also have a store and tasting room where you can use and purchase our products." You can sit down at De Stadsbranderij to have a drink and many people don't let that be said twice! That way, you don't just buy the products for your home, you also enjoy a tasty drink at the location.
Barista style coffee: that's what you get at Coffeelicious! The certified baristas come from coffee school and serve you the best coffees. "We love mainstream coffee," explains Fiona Stoger. "We find that Dordrecht loves good latte and cappuccino, so we're strong on that. Flat white is also doing well. Coffees with milk in them anyway - many people like a somewhat sweet, creamy coffee. Instead of that real, strong coffee taste." At Coffeelicious, there is also always a seasonal drink on the menu. This spring there might just be a tasty caramel latte on the menu. To drink something just a little bit different. Fiona: "Eighty percent of our customers enjoy something with their drink. Like a cookie or a cake. Nice to see!"
