The Dordrechts Philharmonisch Association was founded in 1925 and currently consists of five orchestras. The association’s premier orchestra is the Dordrechts Philharmonic Orchestra. This orchestra belongs to the highest (amateur) music division in the Netherlands, the first division. In addition, the association has two very active youth orchestras: Phil Young, from which members regularly move on to the other orchestras, and Phil Kidzz, where beginning musicians learn to play together. The Dordrechts Philharmonic also has a swinging jazz orchestra called Phil’s Big Band. Phil Good was founded in 2009 and consists of musicians who enthusiastically come together to form a fun orchestra.
The Dordrechts Philharmonisch is a music association dedicated to performing music at the highest possible level. In addition, the association places great importance on an active community life. This means that spending time together, friendship, and camaraderie are just as important. We welcome new members of all ages and skill levels.
