Ruth's Chop Bar

Ruth’s Chop Bar is inspired by the West African food culture the owner grew up with in Ghana. You can find food on every street corner—whatever you’re in the mood for. Fresh fruits and vegetables, grilled corn on the cob, meat skewers, pastries… you name it! Street food is delicious, fresh, and convenient, and he brings that same vibe to Ruth’s Chop Bar.

"Chop Bar" could be translated into Dutch as a restaurant: a place where you get together with family and friends to enjoy a meal. It’s for anyone who’s in the mood for a delicious, homemade meal but doesn’t have the time or inclination to cook it themselves.

“Feel welcome—whether you’re a fish lover, a meat-eater, or a vegetarian—I’ll be happy to cook for you, just as if you were at home. I learned to cook from my family—from my mother, grandmothers, and aunts, the women in my family. In addition to my many years of work in retail, cooking has always remained my hobby. My sisters and I inspire each other with new ideas and ingredients, and I cook with love for my children, husband, and family.
With Ruth’s Chop Bar, I’m sharing these flavors from my home with you.

"Akwaaba, enjoy your meal!"
