Under the name “Big Rivers Presents,” we’re once again featuring a band every month this season—either one that was a big hit at the festival in the past or one you can expect to see at a future edition of Big Rivers.
On Friday, November 13, it’s Zuco 103! The pioneers of brazilectro, who won an Edison Jazz Award in 2023 for their album *Telenova*, are ready once again to showcase their energetic and groundbreaking sound live.
The band continues to innovate and expand its sound, but its signature style—a glorious blend of Brazilian, electronic, funk, and jazz influences—remains firmly intact.
Over the past 24 years, Zuco 103 has released nine critically acclaimed albums and had several number-one singles. They have performed at prestigious festivals such as Fuji Rock in Japan, Rock Werchter, and the North Sea Jazz Festival. Zuco 103 is also known for their collaborations with iconic artists, including Lee “Scratch” Perry, Joe Jackson, Sergio Cavazzioli (Gilberto Gil), and Marcos Suzano.
