Blatoidea was founded in Sicily in 2008 by Manu (vocals/guitar), Jacko (bass/vocals), and Carlo (guitar/vocals).
The band later moved to London, where, thanks to their raw, unpolished sound and tireless energy, they quickly carved out a place for themselves in the British punk scene.
The name Blatoidea is derived from Blattodea, the scientific order of cockroaches. The band uses this name as a metaphor for the way modern society treats marginalized and unwanted groups. The name was originally inspired by the *Creepshow* episode “They’re Creeping Up On You.”
Blatoidea’s sound is a fierce and authentic blend of ’80s punk and rock ’n’ roll. Their songs are driven by personal and social frustrations, delivered with unfiltered emotion and a post-apocalyptic spirit of resistance.
Ratsmack delivers energetic alternative punk rock from Rotterdam that blends melodic hooks, raw vocals, dark undertones, and influences from alternative rock and grunge. They know how to both go full throttle and build tension.
