Straight edge hardcore legends BOLD are joining forces with the new wave of bands CONTENTION and CLIQUE. In the late ’80s in New York, BOLD—along with bands like Youth of Today and Side by Side—was responsible for the youth crew movement: energetic, melodic hardcore punk filled with idealistic themes (often straight edge and vegetarian). The band achieved legendary status, partly because its members went on to play in bands such as Shelter, Quicksand, and Into Another. Since the mid-2000s, the band has reunited from time to time and plays occasional shows.
They are supported by the Portuguese hardcore beatdown band Fear The Lord and the new youth crew band No Way, which keeps the straight edge flag flying high in the Netherlands.
