Want to learn more about the lives of honeybees, wild bees, and other insects that pollinate flowers? Then stop by the Weizigt Bee House. Beekeeper Theo will be happy to tell you about the amazing lives of these insects. Not only are they extraordinary, but they’re also incredibly important to us and to nature. Without insects, there would be no blooming flowers and no food for other animals. So stop by, listen, ask questions, and take a look!
Program
Today’s theme is “flowers and flight distances of wild bees.” Beekeeper Theo will lead two Bee Safaris. In the Weizigt Gardens, we’ll go in search of different species of bees. The Bee Safaris will take place at the following times:
- 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
No registration is required. The Bee Safari is suitable for children ages 7 and up.

The Bee House is open regularly during the summer. The exterior of the Bee House is always open to visitors during our grounds' hours of operation.
