Since 1976, Muziekpodium DJS has been located in the heart of Dordrecht’s historic city center. Our city’s most enjoyable and intimate venue hopes to celebrate its 80th anniversary next year at Grotekerksplein 1, a national historic landmark.
On Sunday, September 13, the doors will be open from 12:00 to 17:00 to anyone who wants to visit the building. While enjoying a drink, visitors can enjoy a performance by the top band Marcus Henry V.
Marcus Henry V is a trio that emerged in 2025 from saxophonist Marco Hijl’s solo project, joined by pianist Jelena Popović and percussionist Peter van Aart. They are more than just musicians; they form a trio that transforms their diverse cultural backgrounds into a single compelling, emotional narrative.
Their debut album, *On the Move*, feels like a journey through a new musical landscape. The music is a bold blend in which the warm depth of jazz meets the emotional richness of contemporary classical music. Electronic rhythms and folk influences flow effortlessly through it all. The result is music that reflects our modern, interconnected world: multifaceted, boundary-breaking, and always in motion.
