Gruppo Sportivo

Farewell to a legendary Dutch pop band
Sat, Nov. 7, 2026
8:30 p.m. – 11:10 p.m.

Gruppo Sportivo will celebrate its half-century anniversary in 2026. That’s also the year the band—originally from The Hague—will embark on a final tour of pop venues and festivals. “We’re still going strong and want to say goodbye to the stage while we’re at the top of our game. That’s why we’re doing one more tour that we’ll never forget,” says singer/guitarist Hans Vandenburg. Adding one of his trademark jokes: “Stop motion before we have to be put on long-term care…”

In addition to the band’s iconic frontman and creative force, Vandenburg, the lineup includes vocalists Lies Schilp and Inge Bonthond, also known as Bombitas. The keyboardist is the young talent Len de Quant, who took over the reins in 2024 from his proud mentor, Peter Calicher, who passed away too soon. Of course, founding member and drummer Max Mollinger, as well as bassist Tim Barning, are back in the lineup.

"Hey Girl," "Beep Beep Love," "Disco Really Made It," "Tokyo," and "Rock ‘n Roll" are just a few of the Dutch pop classics we can look forward to. But knowing Gruppo Sportivo, the legendary band will also make some very unique selections from its extensive repertoire.
