Fall Break Workshop Wool Felt

Wed, Oct. 21, 2026
1:00 p.m. – 3:15 p.m.

Wool is a versatile natural material that was once used to make all sorts of things: coats and rugs, as well as tapestries and underwear. This fall break, you can take a creative workshop with pure wool at Huis Van Gijn.

Even today, you can still see sheep grazing in pastures and on the heath all over the Netherlands—white, black, and brown ones. But how was that wool dyed in the past? And what makes wool so sustainable?

In the museum’s entrance hall, you’ll join Tineke van Vilt and Vezels to make autumn-themed crafts out of sheep’s wool. You can choose between a little pumpkin or an acorn. Using water, soap, and the warmth of your hands, you’ll get to work on your own. Will you join us?

The workshop lasts 30 minutes and is for children ages 4 and up. You can reserve a ticket by clicking the button above. A limited number of spots are available per time slot.
