This summer, children have the unique opportunity to create art alongside an artist whose work is on display at the museum! Ralf Kokke is an artist from Dordrecht, and he painted the beautiful tiger that’s on display in the family exhibition and featured on the poster.
Have you ever met a real artist? Here’s your chance! Get creative with Ralf and learn the tricks of the trade. Ralf will show you tricks for drawing realistically and how to use your imagination. It’ll be a colorful mess as you team up with Ralf to create collages. Which images will you combine to make a beautiful work of art? Use your imagination, find a variety of pictures, and cut away! Put it all together in your own unique art collage.
TIP: If you’d like to explore the museum’s permanent collection after the workshop, pick up the “Vreemde Vogels” family tour guide at the ticket counter!
Practical
The workshop lasts one hour and is suitable for children ages 7 to 10. It takes place at the hands-on table in the family exhibition “I Spy.” For this reason, museum admission is required, but it is free for children up to age 18. Adult chaperones can also enter for free with a Museum Card, Dordtpas, Rotterdampas, or VriendenLoterij VIP card.
