On November 14, Muziekpodium DJS will welcome the remarkable Legiana Collective for an evening of diverse, captivating folk music. The band will perform songs from their brand-new album *Te Cantaré*, among others, which was met with critical acclaim earlier this year.
Te Cantaré — Spanish for “I will sing for you” — is a rich collection of eight songs sung in no fewer than six languages: Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Dutch, Catalan, and English. The album embodies the band’s collective spirit and seamlessly weaves together diverse folk traditions.
What makes Legiana Collective so unique is the way they connect traditional and modern worlds through a rich, layered sound. The group boasts an impressive array of instruments. Expect a lush palette of acoustic harmonium, violin, cello, mandolin, jarana, guitars, and percussion, tastefully complemented by electric guitar, bass, and slide guitar. The songs range from whisper-soft, intimate ballads to exuberant and powerful ensemble pieces.
*Te Cantaré* was recorded live at the impressive Bethlehemkerk in Amsterdam (Studio150), perfectly capturing the spontaneity and unbridled energy of their live performances. On November 14, they’ll bring that very same pure live energy to Dordrecht.
