On Saturday, June 20, Muziekpodium DJS will be all about connection, tradition, and innovation. Under the banner “Local Jazz Heroes,” we’re presenting a lineup that brings together established artists and the next generation of jazz musicians on stage.
It promises to be an exciting evening. The musicians will take on the challenge of finding common ground in a live performance that blends styles and eras. Old meets new; tradition meets improvisation. The repertoire is therefore just as diverse as the lineup itself: from the layered complexity of bebop and the familiar feel of well-known jazz standards to the roaring, energetic grooves of funky jazz-rock.
The lineup includes Ton van der Kolk, Martin Cernocky, Edwin in ‘t Veld, Tijs Kok, Ruben van den Velden, and Wim Klein, among others.
