The Martin String Quartet, one of the four finalists for the 2026 Dutch Classical Talent Award, is the newest rising star on the Dutch string quartet scene. The four dedicated musicians are constantly refining a distinctive sound palette full of brilliant nuances, and are doing everything in their power to get to the heart of the string quartet.
Their program features works by two of the most influential composers in the string quartet genre, Schubert and Beethoven, as well as a piece by the Latvian composer Pēteris Vasks.
Following the drama and stormy atmosphere of Schubert’s Quartettsatz comes Pēteris Vasks’s Second String Quartet, a masterpiece of imagination and storytelling.
