Spring has arrived! Come explore the grounds and see what nature has in store for us during the guided discovery tour “Fly Along with Lena Lijster.” You can register for this activity at weizigt@dordrecht.nl. We’ll meet at 2:00 p.m. at the front desk in the Koetshuis.
When you walk into the Koetshuis, you can’t miss it: a large drawing featuring Lena Lijster. A thrush is a bird with spiky spots on its belly. Its wings are light brown. Lena is a song thrush; you can hear her singing in January. Lena Lijster shows you which animals you might encounter in Dordrecht, whether in a garden or a park. Because nature is all around us. Will you come along?
Exploring Indoors and Outdoors
Together with Lena, you’ll visit the Tack Room at the Coach House. Here, you can view the collection of taxidermy animals and answer all sorts of fun questions. Afterward, you’ll head outside with Lena to discover animals and plants. For example, you’ll explore the compost pile and learn about bees at the Bee House.
From 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., you can also stop by the Bee House.
Will you help, too?
You can lend Lena Lijster and other animals in the city a helping hand. For example, by replacing the tiles in your garden with plants and shrubs. You’ll find lots more tips in the scavenger hunt!
Would you prefer another time?
Would you prefer to take the discovery tour on your own at a different time? You can! You can pick up a free copy of “Fly Along with Lena Lijster” at the front desk in the Koetshuis. The front desk is open Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It is closed on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
