Every family is different. Phaëton, for example, grows up without a father. Mythology and modern-day reality come together in this visual performance.
Everyone living on Earth was born at some point. A sperm meets an egg, and boom! There you are! You exist! You grow inside a belly and eventually come into the world. You grow up with your mom and your… wait a minute… two moms? Two dads? Grandma? Blended family? Co-parenting? Foster brother? Group home? Adopted? Why does every family look so different, and how do you celebrate Father’s Day if you don’t know your dad?
Phaëton is a boy who grows up without a father. But he does have one—a very powerful one: the Greek sun god Helios. Every night, before bedtime, his mother tells him stories about his heroic father. Until Phaëton decides the stories aren’t enough anymore and sets out to find his father.
The auditorium closes once the performance begins. To avoid disturbing the performers and the audience, latecomers unfortunately cannot be admitted. We recommend arriving on time so you don’t miss any part of the performance!
