Just as it did around 1900, Huis Van Gijn follows the rhythm of the seasons. Starting in 2026, you’ll be able to enjoy a cozy, catered breakfast every season, followed by a guided tour of the museum with a group (up to 15 people). This will give you insight into what both the elite and the live-in staff were occupied with during this time of year—from tea parties and traveling to canning and keeping the house warm.
You’ll start at 10:30 a.m. in the museum café, where a delicious breakfast will be waiting for you—slightly different every season, of course. In the meantime, you can read about what people used to eat for breakfast in the Van Gijns’ time. After an hour, it’s time for the guided tour. Tip: this package also makes a great gift!
