The Bird Experience is a six- to twelve-piece psychedelic blues-rock and soul band led by composer, singer, and harmonica player Mees Vullings. That might sound like a lot to take in, but once you’ve heard their eclectic debut album, you’ll realize that even those words fall short of capturing the full breadth of the band’s sound.
On stage, the experience becomes even more intense. Their performances are chaotic, mesmerizing, and completely unpredictable, with rhythms that wind their way down your spine and force you to move, whether you want to or not. One moment you’re swaying along; the next, you’re swept up in something that feels more like possession than a concert.
Even before they’d played a single live show, the band had already caught the attention of a booking agency and a record label. Major festivals, including the famous Roadburn and the Bevrijdingsfestival, soon followed.
