For true early risers, Drijf Dordrecht organizes special early-morning birdwatching tours through the Biesbosch. In early spring, our songbirds return from their wintering grounds. The chiffchaff, one of the first harbingers of spring, can already be heard in the Netherlands. In the weeks that follow, species such as the redstart, the willow warbler, the nightingale, and the blackcap arrive.
With the arrival of spring, bird song increases significantly. Birds can be heard in great numbers, especially in the early morning. During our tours, you’ll glide silently across the water in our electric boat, the Elisabeth, while the morning chorus of the Biesbosch rings out all around you. A truly special nature experience!
The early-morning birdwatching tours are led by former forest rangerJacques van der Neut.During the tour, he talks about the different bird species, their behavior, and the unique natural environment of De Biesbosch National Park.
