Via Lumina has its own Outsider Art Gallery at Voorstraat Noord 152. In this gallery, artists who are just a little different—such as people with autism and those with a history of mental health challenges—can exhibit their work. This art is called Outsider Art. What is Outsider Art? The name says it all: Outsider Art is art created by talented people who cannot find their place at the center of society because they are just a little different. Often, these artists—most of whom are self-taught—are free from artistic influences. Outsider Art is therefore not characterized by stylistic or historical art movements. The only essential characteristic of Outsider Art is that it is created outside the established order. In contrast, Outsider Art is often authentic, direct, and original, because it is created from the depths of a unique soul.
The meeting space is available for rent as a conference venue for 2 to 10 people.
