Da Nina is a traditional Italian specialty restaurant in downtown Dordrecht. The restaurant is named after Nina, the lovely daughter of Ercole and Any, who now run two Italian restaurants in Dordrecht together. The well-known Piccolo Italia has been around since 1981, and now Restaurant Da Nina has joined the family. At Da Nina, you’ll be introduced to pinsa. It’s a type of pizza, but smaller and easier to digest. Among other things, Restaurant Da Nina serves this Italian delicacy, which is still relatively unknown in the Netherlands. Like pizza, pinsa comes in many varieties. The main difference lies in the type of dough, which contains fewer calories and less fat, making it easier to digest. Another difference is that the smaller, oval pinsa isn’t topped with tomato sauce. Da Nina also serves many local Italian specialties paired with complementary wines. The somewhat spicier Italian cuisine from southern Italy, paired with a full-bodied wine, for example. But a “regular” pizza is also on the menu here, gluten-free if desired.
