De Stroper: Food, Drinks, Terrace, Wijnbrug, Spring, Fall, Downtown Dordrecht (2)

The Gault&Millau restaurant guide features no fewer than four restaurants in Dordrecht that have earned a spot in this guide. The difference between the Gault&Millau and Michelin guides is minimal; they each have their own rating system.

La Cebolla: 13.5/20 and 2 chef's hats

Cees Timmerman and Ester Weber have moved their restaurant, DeliCees, to a new location in the heart of Dordrecht. You can now find them at De Witt, in a trendy, colorful space that perfectly matches the lively atmosphere and Ester’s cheerful hospitality.

In the kitchen, Chef Cees draws inspiration from Mediterranean and Indonesian flavors. The menu features a varied selection that you can also order as a multi-course meal. Think of a refined duck rendang with a fresh touch of roedjak manis, or young turbot cooked whole in a spicy Balinese boemboe—complete with crispy bits to keep munching on.

A fresh new start for DeliCees—and it hasn't gone unnoticed: it has been awarded two chef's hats.

De Stroper: Food, Drinks, Terrace, Wijnbrug, Spring, Fall, Downtown Dordrecht (4)

Seafood Restaurant De Stroper 12/20 and 1 chef's hat

This seafood restaurant on the Wijnbrug has been a trusted fixture in the city center since 1987. Owner and sommelier Mark Bakker, who took over the restaurant in 2023, sets the bar high—and you can really taste it. The hearty bouillabaisse with Gruyère and rouille is a classic you really shouldn’t miss. Prefer something a little more unexpected? Then go for the halibut with romesco, baby carrots, and miso.

There’s an appealing lunch menu and a rotating specialty menu that changes every first Thursday of the month. Add to that the warm atmosphere and friendly service, and you’ll feel right at home here.

Bistro Twee33 12/20 and 1 chef's hat

Bistro Twee33:a cozy, warmly decorated spot with plenty of round tables—you’ll feel right at home here. The menu features French bistro classics with a contemporary twist. Think surprising combinations like Comté crémeux with sourdough, spelt, and hazelnut, or quickly seared scallops with jerk spices, cashews, lime, and coconut.

The steak tartare is prepared right at your table and is highly recommended. Still have room for dessert? Then definitely go for the pear tarte tatin. Wine lovers will also be in good hands here: there’s a fine selection, and many of the wines can be ordered by the glass. The service is warm and attentive.

Herberg de Kop van 't Land 13.5/20 and 2 chef's hats

On the dike along the Merwede, near the ferry to the Biesbosch and Werkendam, you’ll find Herberg de Kop van ’t Land. It’s a place that really feels like “the end of the world”—but in the best possible way.

This is a must-try for vegetarians who love surprising and creative food. And it’s reasonably priced, too. Think asparagus, but with a twist: foam, panna cotta, and crispy slices, combined with, for example, a green bean and corn cob cookie and tarragon mayonnaise. There’s a whole world of flavors on your plate—from salty to sweet and sour, with delightful contrasts in texture.

Tip: Combine your visit with a walk in the Biesbosch. Afterward, enjoy a meal and, if you’d like, stay the night in one of the three simple but super clean rooms.
