Dordrecht is located on an island and is surrounded by water. Dordrecht is best discovered from the water with a cruise through the harbors. So go out on the water and you won't know what you see! There are several options for a canal cruise or rent a boat or sloop and stand behind the helm yourself.
Attention boat owners and boat lovers: the municipality is committed to improving connections on the water, making the city even more accessible for pleasure boats. The Pottenkade (Voorstraatshaven) has been given a mooring for passers-by, as well as the Leuvenhaven, the Mattenkade (Wijnhaven) and the Loswalweg (Wantij), near restaurant Het Gemaal. At the Mattenkade you now moor your boat at a compact jetty of about twelve meters, good for two boats. Also the Loswalweg is now a place to moor. Later this year there may also be a transient jetty at the Biesbosch Center. This way you can see several sides of Dordrecht by boat! You sail from location to location and moor easily (for up to three hours) with your own or rented sloop. Additional advantage: discover the city at your leisure when you are briefly off board.
