The Humbled
A melodic pop-rock band from Dordrecht with an alternative twist. Sometimes featuring a compelling beat and danceable riffs, always with a personal story. Inspired by artists such as Coldplay, The National, The Editors, Tori Amos, and Keane. They deliver a surprising sound that’s easy on the ears.
Herman de Kok
Herman de Kok is a Dutch singer-songwriter, known as the frontman of the alternative rock band My Own Army and as the lead singer of the successful Pearl Jam tribute band Rearviewmirror.
Following his previous solo albums, *Interview Part I & II* and the intense double album *A Second Thought… A Second Chance* (2023), Herman returns in 2026 with his most personal work to date: *Twice The Story*.
Written during a difficult period of illness in 2024 and 2025, *Twice The Story* is a poignant album filled with raw emotions, existential questions, and notes of hope. The collaboration with Belgian producer and singer-songwriter Ian Clement (who has worked with Wallace Vanborn, among others) made a significant contribution and elevated the album to an impressive level.
Never before has Herman been able to get so much out of his compositions, thanks in part to the contributions of many inspiring musicians. The music falls somewhere between indie and folk, with lyrics that stem from personal experiences and keen observations.
The result is a versatile, deeply moving album from an artist who lays his soul bare more than ever before.
Popunie review:
“Herman drew inspiration for this solo project from the work of artists such as Elbow, Nick Drake, Ben Howard, and The Veils. Magnificent songs that, in all their calmness, have a cathartic effect on the listener—brilliant!”
