Enjoy the water spectacle from the Merwekade and the Groothoofd, where the Waterbus docks and the outdoor seating areas offer views of the busiest river junction in Europe.

Wolwevershaven and Vismarkt

At Wolwevershaven, historic ships and the striking Dok van Straatman ship lift dominate the view. A little further on, at the Vismarkt, you look out over the Nieuwe Haven, lined on both sides by beautiful townhouses.

The Kalkhaven as a regular spot

It remains special to see such a large barge coming into that relatively small Kalkhaven. This spectacle can be admired from Merz' s terrace several times a day. Secluded from the biggest hustle and bustle of downtown, Dordrechters like to seek peace and quiet here to enjoy a bite to eat and a drink. "There is a relaxed vibe here and on our terrace you can enjoy the sun all day long," says owner Ferry de Klerk. "You can be completely yourself with us and that's why people like to come back."

From the Fish or Wine Bridge

On the terraces along the Wijnhaven, you can enjoy watching the boats and sloops sail by. The tour boat De Dordtevaar departs daily from the pier near the Wijnbrug. Watch the boats sail by from a terrace on the Visbrug.

Dordrecht's "boulevard"

The entrance to Dordrecht is becoming increasingly inviting. With its lovely outdoor seating areas, Spuiboulevard is living up to its name more and more. It’s a beautiful location that’s moving with the times and offers a nice contrast to the historic city center.

The island of Dordrecht

Dordrecht is surrounded by water and even outside the city center you will find lovely terraces along the river to enjoy passing ships or nature.
