Merz is located in an authentic warehouse from 1640 on an old working harbour on the edge of Dordrecht city centre. It is an accessible establishment where young and old meet; a restaurant with a surprising menu, a café with a stage for the best activities and a 150m2 large hall for (business) events. In the weekend there are also regular club nights after 23.00 hours. Eating, drinking, dancing, working; it's all possible at Merz in Dordrecht. A birthday party, anniversary celebration or reception is one of the possibilities. Since recently there is also the possibility to get married in the room on the first floor! This has a typical industrial look and feel to it, while retaining the authentic features of the old building.
Meeting Venue
Suitable for a small group of colleagues or a large group of up to approximately 200 people. Upon request, you can also rent other spaces, such as the café, restaurant, and stage areas at our location in Dordrecht. The entire venue can accommodate up to 500 people. All necessary facilities are available here to ensure your business event runs smoothly.
’t Suyckervat Monument
This distinctive building on Dordrecht’s historic harbors was originally called ‘t Suyckervat. As the name suggests, the warehouse served as a sugar factory in its early years. Its architecture reflects this with its five tall stories. About 40 years ago, the building was converted into a hospitality venue, with a café/restaurant on the ground floor. The first floor features a large hall that is ideal for private events. The original beam construction is still visible throughout the building. The narrow spiral staircases also make it recognizable as a historic harbor building.
