IOS (IsOokSchitterend) burst onto the scene in the late ’90s. Their debut single, “Voltooid Verleden Tijd,” spent no fewer than 30 weeks in the Top 40. They grew to become one of the Dutch pop bands that defined the sound of the late ’90s and the ’00s, with hits like “Uit de Schaduw,” “Hoe het Voelt,” and “Altijd wel Iemand,” and built a solid reputation for their live performances. With ten nights at Ahoy, IOS bid farewell to the audience and the spotlight in 2010 during Vrienden van Amstel Live.
After a hiatus of more than 10 years, the band got back on track. Following a reunion concert at a sold-out Tivoli, six new singles, a club tour, a theater tour, and a “best-of” LP (New Light/Old Friends), the band is now working on its eighth studio album.
They’ll be touring the country with this lineup this fall. So expect plenty of new material, along with, of course, their biggest hits and familiar sing-alongs. An evening of Dutch pop with a raw edge—fresh yet familiar.
