Mike Sardina (Hugh Jackman) is a car mechanic, a former alcoholic, a Vietnam veteran, and a somewhat lackluster bar singer who goes by the stage name Lightning. Somewhere along the way, he meets Claire (Kate Hudson), who sings her heart out in local bars. Sparks fly between them, and they decide to pursue a musical project together. Mike is a huge fan of Neil Diamond. So they set out as the Neil Diamond tribute band Lightning & Thunder. Things are going great and the band becomes a huge success—until a fateful event strikes. In the end, they prove that it’s never too late to find love and chase your dreams.
