The Papendrechtsebrug (N3) will be closed to all car traffic and cyclists from July 17, 2026, through April 21, 2027. If you’re coming from the Alblasserwaard, this means taking a detour via the A15 and A16. Many additional public transportation options have also been made available so you can still get to Dordrecht quickly and easily.

The buses that normally cross the bridge will not be running. All bus routes are now heading to Baanhoek Station, where you can continue your journey by train.
In addition, the regular Waterbus also runs to and from Merwekade. You can bring your bike, and from Merwekade, you can easily bike or walk into the city.

If you're visiting downtown Dordrecht, it's best to park in one of the parking garages. Just follow the parking signs.
On the outskirts of downtown, you'll find the Weeskinderendijk Parking Lot (affordable parking). On Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., a shuttle bus runs to downtown and back. Parking in the parking garages is available, but please be aware that they can get particularly crowded on Saturdays and during events.

With a disabled parking permit, you may park in any parking space. You will then pay a reduced rate. You can also use mobile parking. The area code for this is 7841. In the parking garage, you pay the rate that applies there.
