Uninhibited jazz sounds. Swinging salsa. Melancholy blues. In Muziekpodium DJS for more than 75 years it sounds for anyone who wants to hear it. Founded in 1947 as Dordtse Jazz Sociëteit, DJS has developed from (the oldest existing Dutch) jazz club into an intimate music venue that annually organizes over 100 concerts in a variety of musical styles.

We do this together with some 70 volunteers who feel connected to DJS thanks to an inexhaustible passion for music. Not just any music, but quality live music in particular. Blues, jazz, world, funk or soul....it doesn't matter. We love music that leaves room for telling a story through a beautiful solo, room for quirky interpretations, for following your own path. With notes that sometimes chafe with conventional harmonies, yet always find their way and come home.

Our program is versatile and exciting, but never elitist. Always live and always pure; straight from the heart. Our location is intimate and cozy and, thanks to the recent renovation, completely up to date. Musicians belonging to the top of the Dutch jazz and blues scene enjoy playing here because of the interaction with the audience. At Muziekpodium DJS you can simply have a beer with your favorite band after a concert.
