Paul van Ernich (Oss, 1960) worked as an ice cream vendor, spent several years as a motorcycle mechanic, completed a degree in psychology at Radboud University, and then studied for a few years at the Design Academy (Eindhoven). He eventually devoted himself wholeheartedly to his great love: art. Over the years, he specialized in classical (particularly 17th-century) painting. A professional career took off. Paul was invited to appear on the television program*Sterren op het Doek*, where he painted a portrait of Ilse de Lange. Exhibitions in France, China, and the U.S. (Los Angeles) followed.
In recent years, Paul has specialized in large, hyperrealistic paintings of flowers and pastries. Painted against what is often a dark background, the objects come to life and take on a personality of their own, each with its own story.
