Dordrecht Book Market with books and LPs
It has been a true downtown tradition for many years: the 27th Dordt Book Market. From literature to thrillers and from history books to comics - you will find fine reading material for every age. That means books, of course, but since last year also LPs. Back then there were 11 stalls with LPs, now no less than 26. A great combination! Stroll along more than 380 stalls looking for a particular book that is still missing from your collection, or score a stack of vacation reading material. Along the way, you'll come across all sorts of catering and music venues. Whether you like books or not - there is plenty of fun during the Dordtse Boekenmarkt, with a touring bakfiets-piano and an exciting children's market at Kinderboekwinkel de Giraf on the Groenmarkt.
Three days of celebration during Big Rivers
From Friday, July 12 to Sunday, July 14, downtown will again be transformed into one big music hall for young and old, for Big Rivers. Three days enjoying more than 130 bands and acts - you want to be there! Big Rivers is unmissable in the Dordrecht events calendar. And the upcoming24th edition promises to be another blast! The streets in the city center form one big dance floor, where you enjoy a variety of artists who surprise you with the most diverse music genres and performances. It is one of the largest free-to-attend events in the entire country. On as many as 12 stages you will enjoy musical performances with the beautiful city as your backdrop!
Five music Mondays with Parkies
Starting July 15, the Wantijpark will be the scene of Parkies 5 Monday evenings all about music. Starting at 7 p.m. you will experience an entertaining musical program, which always begins with a local warm-up act. Followed by a main act and closing by a DJ. On the very first evening of Parkies there is already a resounding name: none other than singer Tim Akkerman takes the stage. So the start of the event is off to a good start, setting the tone for a fine musical summer. Just like last year, the silent disco is back on the program. A true success so worth repeating! That is why this activity will have a prominent place on the grounds. A number of guys from Dordrecht will come every week to play music, which you will hear on your headphones. Go crazy, during wonderful - and free - evenings in the park.
