Discover downtown and surroundings with a canal cruise
Get out on the water this spring! Take a cruise through the beautiful historic harbors with the Dordtevaar, one of the sloops from DRIJF or the Italian boats from Si Barone. You will experience and discover the city at its most beautiful from the water. Or set off from the Biesbosch Center with your own boat. The latter is a truly unique experience, as you sail right through the national park. Rent a boat, canoe or sup or join a tour. From the Biesboschcentrum there are several boat tours. One of them is the "Biesbosch whisper boat tour", where you sail in an open whisper boat through the beautiful creeks and along lushly vegetated shores. In the evening, when dusk falls, you can also join the special "Whispering in search of beavers" tour. Prefer to sail yourself? That is also possible, there is plenty of choice to enjoy on the water. Good to know: the new landing stage at the Biesboschcentrum has recently been opened, super convenient to moor your sloop or boat.
On an adventure in nature
Through DRIJF you can go supping in the Biesbosch. And many people won't let that be said twice, according to Dorien Bouman of DRIJF. "Suppen is still a hype. Understandably, because it's nice to be out on the water and especially now that the weather is better." Rent a SUP board for two hours or four hours. Paddle through pristine creeks of De Biesbosch National Park and discover the most beautiful spots! DRIJF also has two canal boats that sail around town and if you want to explore nature with them as well, make the combo with the Biesbosch included. Feel like kayaking in the Biesbosch? Also possible through DRIJF! This is a great outing with children this spring and summer. Dorien: "We are also there for companies. They choose, for example, to first have a meeting at our indoor location and then enjoy the water."

As soon as the first rays of sunlight appear, there is little as nice as plopping down on a waterside terrace. In Dordrecht, you will find plenty of places where you can enjoy a drink with a view. One of the absolute top spots? The Groothoofd! Perhaps the most beautiful spot in the city, with a panoramic view that will make you speechless. Take a seat at Grandcafé Groothoofd or be surprised by the menu at Café Restaurant Jongepier. Whether you are inside in the warm, cozy atmosphere or outside on the terrace feeling the sun on your face: here you can taste spring. Thanks to Dordrecht's location, surrounded by water, places like this are extra special. The view of the rivers that converge here is impressive, the feeling of peace and space unique. Overnight at the waterfront
Want to spend a special night after a day in Dordrecht? You can do that too! Eight floating hotel rooms: the so-called water rooms at Villa Augustus are a real hit.
