Get some festival outfits ready, because in July there's a party in town every weekend. With the historic Hoff Festival, the music festival Big Rivers, Kunsthoofd, the burgundian Mout Beer Festival and the sporty Lucinda Brand Cycling Festival, there really is something for everyone. And we just add another day to the weekend with Parkies in the Wantijpark every Monday evening. Music, toasts, a good time and hopefully some sunshine!

Party on and around the Hof: Hoffestival Dordrecht
It was secret and illegal. The king had not given permission for the meeting that William of Orange organised in July 1572. Exactly 450 years ago, twelve Dutch cities met in complete silence in the Hof in Dordrecht. It became the First Free States Assembly, the birth of a free Netherlands. This crucial moment in Dutch history is of course worthy of a grand jubilee. This happens with the Hoffestival Dordrecht. On and around the Hof, the place where it all began, on 9 and 10 July, there will be the nicest and most surprising cultural activities for young and old. Het Hof is already great in itself, but this weekend it will be even better. Everyone is welcome!
Almost all music genres on Monday evenings at Parkies
We are enjoying an extra long weekend this summer, with another wonderful festival in the Wantijpark on Monday evening, Brand Parkies. Although the name has changed slightly due to a change of beer partner, visitors can still count on the familiar, atmospheric music evenings. We cover almost all music genres this summer', says Bas Witlox of the organisation. From a blues evening with the band Voltage, to soul and funk with Jared Grant and intimate pop with the cover band FRIDAY. Very different genres of music, which are nevertheless comfortable for everyone. The main performance starts every Monday at 20.15, but from 19.30 the support act warms up the visitors. Food and drink stalls open at 19.00 (an hour earlier in good weather). New this year are the beer tastings, with which we want to enhance the experience even more," says Witlox. Big Rivers: festival of connecting and meeting each other
The green, purple and yellow bead necklaces can be taken out, because Big Rivers is coming up. For a whole weekend, visitors can enjoy free music performances on the ten stages spread throughout the city centre. For many people, Big Rivers is the start of their holiday,' says festival director Liselotte Gatzen. We are so happy that it can happen again! It is a festival of connection and meeting each other and that is especially important now. This year, a new component has been added to the festival. At the Boulevard is a paid addition to the event. The programme on the Spuiboulevard includes some bigger names, such as DJ La Fuente, Kenny B, Van Dik Hout and the Vengaboys.' Art (head) in the broadest sense of the word
This summer, the Groothoofd will be transformed into the French painters' quarter Montmartre for six Sundays. Dozens of artists will show their skills on these Sundays at the picturesque location on the Drierivierenpunt. There will be painting, drawing, modelling, woodwork, you name it. Art in the broadest sense of the word,' says Teus Zantman, one of the organisers. Whether you like art or not, a visit to one of the Sunday art markets is highly recommended. There is something for everyone. People can ask questions, buy works of art or just come and look, enjoy the atmosphere and have a drink on the terrace with nice live music in the background. Kunsthoofd is open every Sunday from 12.00 onwards. We hope of course for beautiful weather.
Cosiest beer garden: Mout Beer Festival
This year, Mout Beer Festival comes to Dordrecht for the first time. The cosiest beer garden makes its debut in the last weekend of July in the Wantijpark. With more than 200 different kinds of special beers, great music and all kinds of activities the Wantijpark will change into a Valhalla for the epicurean. Treat yourself to various special beers from numerous (international) breweries. Each brewery has its own permanent tap and also offers all kinds of specials. There is food for both vegans and meat-eaters: from lunch and dinner to jam-packed drinks boards. There is a music programme with the best boogie, rockabilly and funk from the best live-acts!
