A musical association where making music and having fun are of paramount importance
The Dordrecht Philharmonic, also known as the Phil, has much to offer music lovers. You are welcome to attend the concerts of the various orchestras to discover our broad repertoire. We play a lot of contemporary music, film music, jazz and music from musicals. The association is open to new members who would like to play in one of the orchestras. There is room for people of all ages and levels, and we especially want to get new youth members excited about music. The association values an active club life. This means that togetherness, friendship and sociability are of great importance.
The first division orchestra of the association is the Dordrecht Philharmonic Orchestra. This orchestra belongs to the highest (amateur) music division of the Netherlands. In addition, the association has two very active youth orchestras: Phil Young, from which members regularly move on to the other orchestras, and Phil Kidzz, where beginning musicians learn to play together. The Dordrecht Philharmonic also has a swinging jazz orchestra called Phil's Bigband. The orchestra Phil Good consists of musicians who enthusiastically form a pleasant orchestra.
The Phil turns 100!
In 2025, the Phil will be 100 years old! Of course, we are going to celebrate that throughout the year, not only for all Philerians, but certainly for all Dordrians. All orchestras will organize their own Jubilee Concert. Each concert will be special because of musical collaborations with renowned artists.
